The Fall
The Fall
This series was inspired by an assignment from photo 3 in which we were to display some mythology with our photography. I chose the story of Icarus.
The wings were made from cardboard with wire frames and about 200 hand cut/ folded paper feathers on duct tape. They took me about 3 weeks to make.

The Realization
American Prometheus & the Fallout
These two were also part of the mythological assignment where I looked at the story of Prometheus and how he stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. And thus man created war. In this series, I play off of the cause and effect that this story teaches. American Prometheus harnesses the power of the atom and watches the fallout that proceeds

Nighttime Long Exposure
This past summer I spent some time in Martha’s Vineyard. While there, I decided to try some nighttime landscape photography. After a short while I became incredibly bored and decided to walk across the frame while on my phone. The light from the phone reflected off my face and left a streak over the final picture.
These are some of the photos I took that night after being inspired by the abstract streak that danced across the initial shot.

Black and White on The Stone Beach
Over spring break, I took a trip to Seatle to visit a few friends from home. On this trip, I traveled to Olympic National Park and walked along some of its stone beaches. I had been sick just before and the sea air mixed with falling asleep to the rain tapping on a metal roof became one of the most serine experiences of my life. The scenery was stunning. The overcast sky added to the view, but unfortunately decreased the saturation of colors.
I chose to make these photos black and white because, on top of the dull overcast sky, the shapes in each composition were striking on their own. Color was not needed and added nothing to the photo.
These are some of my favorite photos and are featured on the homepage.
